Spice launches Smart Pulse M9010, India first smartwatch with dual sim capability for Rs 3,999

Spice Retail Limited, has introduced the country’s first sim enabled smart watch, Spice Smart Pulse M 9010 in the wearable devices category. It offers dual-SIM (2G+2G) capabilities and can be used as a standalone phone. The smartwatch features a 4-cm touchscreen and a 420mAh battery. It has a price tag of just Rs 3,999. It will be available exclusively from Homeshop18 from July 11 (9:15 pm onwards) across India.

The 4 cm touch screen of the device allows to make the phone functionalities like make and receive call with the free Bluetooth headset provided, read and write SMS, and browse web. It has an expandable memory capacity of 8GB. It also includes a camera and an FM radio. It works as a multi-functional watch and can be paired via Bluetooth with any other android smartphone to work as secondary device for the smartphone. The Smart Pulse device gives remote access for the paired smartphone for functionalities make and receive calls, view call logs, read and write SMS, remote camera capture, music streaming and notification alert for social applications.

Spice will provide a Bluetooth notification, APK file that needs to be downloaded on the user’s Android smartphone in order to pair with the watch through Bluetooth. This BT notifier application will be available on the official website of Spice, www.spicesmartphones.com.

  The Smart Pulse is a sleek and elegant gadget by Spice. It comes with 3 colored changeable wristbands. 

As far we know this device doesn't work on recently released Google's Android Wear platform, instead it utilize the same Android OS your smartphones runs on. It means the device could have performance issues and due to this its small battery of 420mAh wouldn't even sustain a complete day, unless the OS is heavily customised to make it less resource demanding. It is also to be seen that whether the device is water and dust resistant cause a watch needs to have certain ruggedness to sustain daily wear and tear. Though, we don't expect these features at this price point.
